Signal Ridge is an unincorporated community and the county seat of Angel County in the Pacific Northwest. The town serves as the administrative and service center for surrounding forest districts.

Signal Ridge developed during the mid-20th century as a support town for forestry operations and wildfire monitoring programs in the region.

History   [edit source]

The community was formally established in 1948 alongside the creation of Angel County. Its location along a ridge overlooking the surrounding forest basin made it an ideal site for observation infrastructure and forestry administration.

Construction of the Signal Ridge Fire Watch Tower during the early 1960s provided expanded wildfire detection capability across nearby districts.

The town remained small throughout the late 20th century, with most economic activity centered on forestry work, small businesses, and highway services.

In September 2014, a wildfire event resulted in forest closures affecting parts of the surrounding district.

Economy   [edit source]

Local businesses include service stations, lodging, and community-run establishments catering to travelers and forestry personnel.

Shooting Comet’s Fuel is one of the primary service stations located within the community.
