Bebo Records (pronounced bee-boh records) is an independent record label founded in May 2020 by Canadian rapper and producer 8lak3_. Originally launched as a SoundCloud page dedicated to edits, meme music, and parody releases, the label gradually evolved into a collaborative collective focused on independent music spanning hip-hop, vaporwave, ambient, electronic, lo-fi, and experimental production.
Since its founding, Bebo Records has expanded from a solo project into a roster of musicians, producers, and side projects that frequently collaborate across releases. While rap remains the label's largest genre, Bebo Records has become equally known for instrumental projects, sample-based experimentation, and electronic music, with artists often appearing on one another's albums regardless of style.
As of 2026, Bebo Records consists of eleven active artists and projects, making it the largest roster in the label's history.

History
[edit source]
2020-2021: Formation
[edit source]
Bebo Records was founded in May 2020 by 8lak3_ as a SoundCloud account primarily used for parody songs, edits, and joke releases. During its first two years, the label's output was largely centered around sample-heavy projects, comedy albums, and the start of annual Christmas releases, establishing many of the recurring themes and inside jokes that would later become associated with the label.
Although these early releases were largely experimental, they introduced the collaborative and genre-fluid philosophy that would later define Bebo Records.
2022-2023: Expansion
[edit source]
Throughout 2022, Bebo Records shifted its focus toward original hip-hop production following increased collaboration between 8lak3_ and fellow artists Pamperson and TaniRift. During this period, the label began moving away from parody releases in favor of full-length rap projects while continuing to experiment with breakbeat, mashups, and sample-based production.
The roster expanded significantly throughout 2023. TaniRift became the label's first officially signed artist in May, followed later that year by 877, Aranamor, AnotherIndieAugust, and Pamperson. Compilation projects and collaborative releases became increasingly common, with artists regularly appearing as producers or featured performers on one another's work.
The label also broadened its distribution during this period, releasing music on streaming services outside of SoundCloud for the first time.
2024-Present: Diversification
[edit source]
Beginning in 2024, Bebo Records expanded beyond hip-hop as its primary genre into several new ones with new artists.
The addition of microsoftgolf introduced vaporwave and slushwave to the label's discography, while later signings such as Cerenval and 877 established a stronger presence in lo-fi and piano-based instrumental music. In 2025, kyaazu joined the roster, further expanding the label's rap output, followed later that year by cafeofangels, whose ambient and electronic releases marked another genre shift for the collective.
